10. Dimensional Doors

I’m starting off with stevenrs11’s Dimensional Doors mod. This modpack is incredibly handy and clever, and would be a great foundational mod to include in any new game.

9. Farming Valley

For number 9, I’ve included a modpack that many players consider to be a good beginner modpack. If you’re new to large, game-altering mods, this might be a good place for you to start! Kehaan’s Farming Valley is inspired by farming simulator games like Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley.

8. Rails of War

Perhaps I’m the only one that finds our number 8 entry so fascinating, but when I saw this mod, I knew I had to include it here. Currently, this mod is only usable in creative mode, but it surely could be used to build some incredible cities!

7. Invasion

Now, if you’re not new to the modpack scene, you might have heard of Invasion. You might have even played it for yourself! But considering how iconic and incredible this mod is, I figured it would be a shame not to include it, even if it’s not the first time several of you have read about it.

6. Delivery Inc

Delivery Inc is really interesting in that it’s unlike any other mod concept I’ve ever seen for Minecraft. It somewhat reminds me of one of the lesser-used mechanics within Slime Rancher, where you occasionally receive requests for certain farm products and supplies that you can fulfill for extra rewards.

5. The Lost Cities

McJty’s modpack, The Lost Cities, introduces an entirely new biome to spawn into at the creation of a new survival game. You’ll wake up surrounded by an abandoned city, filled with mysterious, ancient structures that were left behind by an extinct group of people.

What Is A Minecraft Raid?

A raid is a boss fight type of event that can be started in Minecraft once you have completed a few set tasks. During a raid, you’ll fight several waves of Pillagers that attack the village you’ve just entered. Raids tend to have multiple waves, and in order for the next wave to start, you need to kill all hostile mobs of the current wave.

How To Start A Raid In Minecraft

In order to start a raid, you need to first receive the Bad Omen status effect. To get this, you need to kill an Illager captain. Captains are typically marked by their Ominous Banner flag attached to their back.

How Bad Omen Works In Minecraft

An important thing to note about Bad Omen in the Java version of the game is that Bad Omen status effects are stackable. Depending on how many captains you’ve killed, your Bad Omen might stack up to level five. If the captain you killed was in a patrol, the Bad Omen level is randomly selected between one and five.

Types Of Enemies And Number Of Waves In A Minecraft Raid

It’s not just the Bad Omen status effect that affects the nature of the raid. Your world difficulty will have a significant impact on the number of waves you need to defeat, as well as the type of enemies included in each wave.

The Loot Received From Raids

The best part about the raid is obviously the loot you get. These mobs are incredibly rare to encounter otherwise, so triggering a raid is a fantastic way to farm for some experience points as well as valuable items.

What Happens After A Raid

After you’ve completed the raid, if there are any villagers left in your village, they will celebrate you as their hero. You’ll also gain a brand-new status effect known as Hero of the Village. While this status effect is active, villagers will throw various gifts at your feet.
